Job Type: Direct Hire
Remote: No Remote
Compensation: $105,000 – $140,000 Per Year
About Our Client
Our client is transforming airspace safety through advanced drone detection and airspace monitoring
systems. Their mission is to deliver real-time, actionable data that enhances security across airports,
critical infrastructure, and urban environments. Headquartered in Syracuse, NY, they are rapidly scaling
and investing in next-generation RF, radar, and sensor technologies.
The Opportunity
We are seeking a Senior RF Engineer to join a cross-disciplinary team designing and testing the RF
systems that power our client’s innovative airspace security solutions. This role is hands-on and highly
collaborative, blending circuit board-level RF design, antenna modeling, and lab-based testing with
opportunities to guide junior engineers and help shape state-of-the-art test facilities.
Key Responsibilities
RF System Development
Derive, define, and document RF system and subsystem requirements.
Architect, design, simulate, and model RF circuit cards, subsystems, and interfaces.
Perform schematic capture, component selection, BOM management, and integration of
RF structures into PCB-level designs.
Testing & Validation
Conduct lab-based RF testing using industry-standard equipment and measurement
methods.
Support and lead anechoic chamber testing and characterization; contribute to the
development of new in-house test facilities.
Participate in integration events and cross-functional design reviews.
Collaboration & Leadership
Work closely with software, systems, and mechanical engineering teams to balance
design tradeoffs.
Provide technical mentorship to junior engineers, fostering knowledge-sharing and skill
development.
Contribute to project planning, execution, and oversight.
What We’re Looking For
Required:
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
5+ years of RF engineering experience (will consider strong candidates with ~3+ years of highly
relevant experience).
Proficiency with simulation and analysis tools (e.g., Ansys HFSS, Genesys, MATLAB, Python,
or similar EM tools).
Hands-on experience with lab-based RF testing and measurement equipment.
Strong communication skills—able to clearly explain complex RF concepts and collaborate
across teams.
U.S. Citizenship (due to the nature of the technology).
Preferred:
Experience with antennas, phased arrays, receivers, exciters, and microstrip/embedded RF
structures.
Familiarity with schematic capture and PCB layout tools (Mentor Graphics, Altium, etc.).
Experience with anechoic chamber measurements and facility development.
