Job Description
Our client is seeking an experienced Roadway Design Project Manager to join their Charlotte team.
This role is ideal for a seasoned professional ready to lead high-impact transportation projects, collaborate
directly with clients, and mentor junior engineers.
Manage roadway design projects, including highways, arterials, intersections, and interchanges
Oversee project budgets, schedules, scopes, and deliverables
Ensure compliance with NCDOT and FHWA standards
Build and maintain strong client relationships, serving as primary point of contact
Lead proposal development and contribute to business development activities
Mentor and train junior engineering staff
Utilize design software such as MicroStation, GeoPak, and Open Roads
Qualifications
Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering (or related field)
P.E. license in NC (or ability to secure within 6 months)
10+ years of roadway design and project management experience
Strong background with MicroStation, GeoPak, Open Roads, CAD, and Microsoft Office
Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
Demonstrated success in business development and proposal preparation
