Position Overview

A well-established, employee-owned fire protection company in the Western Philadelphia suburbs is seeking a Fire Protection Designer to join its growing team. This immediate opportunity is open to candidates ranging from entry-level professionals to experienced senior designers.
The successful candidate will perform a combination of commercial Fire Alarm and Fire Suppression system design using AutoCAD. Prior fire protection design experience is preferred, but recent Mechanical or Electrical Engineering graduates with AutoCAD experience and exposure to Revit or BIM technologies are also encouraged to apply.

Key Responsibilities

• Design commercial Fire Alarm systems using AutoCAD.
• Design commercial Fire Suppression systems using AutoCAD.
• Prepare accurate technical drawings, layouts, and design documentation.
• Apply engineering and design principles to develop effective fire protection solutions.
• Assist with site surveys and field assessments as needed.
• Support the development of customer proposals and project documentation.
• Collaborate with project teams, customers, manufacturers, and other stakeholders.
• Work with leading manufacturers and products within the fire protection industry.
• Support projects for a prestigious mix of local and national clients.
• Perform additional duties based on individual strengths, technical expertise, and areas of interest.

Required & Preferred Qualifications

• Candidates with 1-25 years of professional experience are encouraged to apply.
• Prior Fire Alarm design experience is a plus.
• Prior Fire Suppression design experience is a plus.
• Recent graduates with a degree in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering are welcome to apply.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD is highly preferred.
• Experience with Revit or BIM is a plus.
• Ability and willingness to learn fire protection design principles and industry practices.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to accurate design documentation.
• Ability to work collaboratively with customers, project teams, and industry partners.
