Job Summary
A large, well-established manufacturing plant in eastern Tennessee is seeking an Electrical Engineer to support plant maintenance, production equipment, and ongoing automation projects. The facility operates in a high-volume, fast-paced production environment and is currently automating additional production lines.
This is a hands-on engineering position requiring significant time on the production floor. The engineer will work directly with equipment, robotics, PLCs, HMIs, and production teams. This is not a desk-based engineering role.
Key Responsibilities
• Support electrical engineering and plant maintenance activities in a high-volume manufacturing environment.
• Work hands-on with production equipment and automation systems on the manufacturing floor.
• Support major automation projects involving production lines and equipment.
• Troubleshoot and support PLC-based control systems.
• Work with HMIs, robotics, industrial controls, and related automation technologies.
• Assist with electrical troubleshooting, equipment reliability, and production issues.
• Collaborate with maintenance, manufacturing, engineering, and production teams to resolve technical problems.
• Support implementation, commissioning, and optimization of new automated equipment.
• Identify opportunities to improve production efficiency, equipment performance, and reliability.
• Provide technical support for ongoing plant engineering and automation initiatives.
Required Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) or similar engineering discipline.
• 2+ years of manufacturing or related industrial experience.
• Experience with robotics required.
• Experience with PLC programming and troubleshooting required.
• Experience with HMI systems and industrial automation.
• Ability and willingness to work extensively on the production floor.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-volume manufacturing environment.
Candidate Profile
The company will consider BSEE candidates with 2+ years of experience and can provide training to qualified candidates. The ideal candidate is hands-on, comfortable working around production equipment, and interested in automation and manufacturing technology.
