Job Summary

A major employer in the greater Morristown / Dandridge area is seeking an experienced Assembly Manufacturing Engineer to support a high-volume, fast-paced manufacturing operation. The facility uses a combination of state-of-the-art automation and manual processes, with automation projects currently underway. The Assembly Engineer will support projects focused on continued production line automation, process capability, documentation, and manufacturing improvement.

Key Responsibilities

• Support assembly manufacturing and production engineering activities in a high-volume environment.
• Assist with projects to automate production lines and improve manufacturing processes.
• Conduct process capability studies.
• Develop and maintain control plans and PFMEA documentation.
• Write technical work instructions for equipment and manufacturing processes.
• Support troubleshooting and resolution of manufacturing process issues.
• Apply engineering principles to improve safety, quality, efficiency, and production performance.
• Collaborate with production and cross-functional teams on automation and process improvement initiatives.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering preferred.
• Associate’s degree may be considered for candidates with 5+ years of engineering experience in high-volume manufacturing.
• Experience in manufacturing or production engineering, preferably in an assembly environment.
• Experience working in high-volume manufacturing environments.
• Knowledge of process capability studies, control plans, and PFMEA documentation.
• Strong technical documentation and work instruction writing skills.
• PLC troubleshooting experience is a plus.
• Automotive manufacturing experience is strongly preferred but not required.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment with tight tolerances and demanding documentation requirements.

Preferred Candidate Profile

Candidates from any manufacturing industry will be considered. Automotive experience is highly desirable, particularly candidates who understand urgency, tight tolerances, process documentation, and quality requirements. Candidates already located in the Southeast are preferred.
