Position Overview

A leading Fortune 500-backed provider of energy, infrastructure, and facility modernization solutions is seeking an experienced Project Delivery Consultant to support project development activities from initial opportunity assessment through contract execution and transition into project delivery.
This fully remote position covers the entire New England region, with occasional meetings at the local branch, customer locations, and client sites as needed. The successful candidate will serve as a key bridge between business development, engineering, estimating, construction, operations, and executive stakeholders.
The Project Delivery Consultant will work alongside a Sales Specialist and Project Engineer to help identify, develop, land, and successfully transition projects. The ideal candidate brings strong project delivery, construction management, estimating, financial, operational, and customer-facing expertise, with direct experience in ESCO or MEP environments.

Industry Experience Requirement

Direct experience in the Energy Services Company (ESCO) or Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) industry is required. ESCO experience is strongly preferred. Candidates should have experience with energy performance contracting, facility modernization, infrastructure improvements, sustainability-focused projects, or comparable complex commercial and institutional work.

Project Development & Pre-Construction

• Lead project execution plans, delivery strategies, preliminary schedules, and budgets during the pursuit phase.
• Support opportunities from initial assessment through contract award and transition into delivery.
• Collaborate with Sales, Engineering, Estimating, Construction, and Operations teams to develop competitive, executable solutions.
• Provide input on vendor selection, subcontractor strategy, value engineering, constructability reviews, and risk mitigation.
• Develop cost estimates, labor forecasts, subcontractor estimates, and preliminary schedules.
• Participate in contract negotiations and establish favorable commercial terms, billing structures, and payment schedules.
• Evaluate project scope, customer requirements, and delivery risks.

Project Planning & Execution Support

• Develop and maintain preliminary schedules using Microsoft Project or similar platforms.
• Determine staffing and resource allocation plans for successful execution.
• Coordinate with delivery leadership to forecast future construction and project management resource needs.
• Assist with project setup, documentation control, and governance processes.
• Serve as a technical and operational resource to Construction Managers during execution.
• Support change management and ensure scope modifications are documented, priced, approved, and communicated.

Customer & Stakeholder Management

• Build long-term relationships with customers, contractors, subcontractors, consultants, and industry partners.
• Establish customer touchpoints throughout the project lifecycle.
• Present project plans, schedules, budgets, and execution strategies to clients and executives.
• Influence decisions through communication, negotiation, persuasion, and relationship-building.
• Serve as a trusted advisor during project development and transition.

Financial & Commercial Leadership

• Support project financial plans and forecasting.
• Contribute to profitability through accurate estimating, risk assessment, and strategic procurement.
• Participate in monthly project financial reviews and reporting.
• Assist with cash flow strategies and favorable contract structures.
• Negotiate and finalize Schedule of Values (SOV) and payment milestones.

Compliance, Safety & Continuous Improvement

• Ensure compliance with contractual, legal, regulatory, and code requirements.
• Promote safety-focused project planning and execution.
• Support project risk management and documentation.
• Participate in closeout reviews and lessons-learned sessions.
• Maintain high ethical standards in all business and project activities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business, or related field, or equivalent industry experience.
• 10+ years of progressively responsible experience in project delivery, construction management, operations management, infrastructure development, or related industries.
• MUST HAVE direct ESCO or MEP industry experience; ESCO is strongly preferred.
• Strong background in estimating, scheduling, budgeting, and construction planning.
• Experience managing complex commercial, institutional, industrial, energy, or infrastructure projects.
• Ability to work independently in a fully remote environment across a regional territory.

Work Arrangement & Territory

• Fully remote position.
• Territory covers the entire New England region.
• Candidate should be reasonably local to the Rocky Hill, Connecticut area or an appropriate New England location for occasional branch meetings and client-site visits.
• Regional travel is required as needed for customer meetings, project development, site visits, and stakeholder engagement.
