Job Description
This company, a global leader in safety-critical automotive technology, is looking for
a Sr. Supplier Quality Engineer for their new, thriving production facility. In this
position, you’d be a key team member to plan, support, and implement supplier
quality programs. You’ll also evaluate, select and develop a supply base and assess
new supplier technology to obtain maximum quality and productivity levels.

Position Description
Drive supplier quality programs to meet goals and objectives. You’ll provide quality
engineering support by evaluating, selecting and developing a supply base and
assessing new supplier technology to obtain maximum quality and productivity
levels. You’ll also be a primary contact to OEM customers, managing the
implementation of quality processes. Another key aspect is mentoring/guiding a
junior-level engineer.
Other responsibilities include:
Review and audit supplier products, processes and/or systems performance
and provide suggestions for improvement.
Formulate and/or assist in formulating internal and external supplier quality
control policies and procedures and develop quality standards.
Monitor and control cost, timing, and other related aspects of projects.
Adhere to schedule and budgetary requirements of projects and report
process as required.
Serve as a technical liaison and coordinate activity of internal and external
resources.
Serve as a resource by providing a problem solving function by initiating
action to overcome obstacles as they are encountered.
Participate in quality planning during the launch phase of new products. Work
with suppliers and Quality Engineering to develop tools for suppliers.
Work with suppliers to support them in PPAP, leading to full approval of their
product for production use.
Qualifications
Bachelors degree in engineering with 4+ years of experience in automotive
electronics manufacturing (MUST HAVE).
Lead-level experience in supplier quality engineering (not customer quality),
with an understanding of advanced quality engineering practices, principles,
processes (FMEA, APQP, PPAP, etc.).
A strong track record in data analysis, escalation processes, vendor cost
recovery, and other areas to show you’re proactive about improving the
supplier base.
Excellent communication and client/supplier management skills, including the
proven ability to stand your ground when necessary.
