Job Description
A growing Cincinnati, Ohio chemical manufacturing facility is seeking a Manufacturing Manager. Daily,
you will champion continuous improvement, inspire your team of direct and indirect reports, and
optimize operations for a profitable, growing company. This position will report to the Plant Manager. In
this role, you will have the following responsibilities:
Foster the importance of a safety-oriented culture within the plant.
Lead your team by example and coach, mentor, and develop direct and indirect reports to exceed
their individual and company goals.
Act as a change agent for the plant with the daily initiative of improving morale and staff
engagement.
Communicate with customers on the status of production and delivery.
Work with the Plant Scheduler to meet production goals and make modifications as needed.
Lead production efforts on multiple shifts to ensure customer expectations are met; foster and
improve customer communication.
Attend daily meetings and offer regular communication to team members on production status
and process updates.
Maximize efficiencies by identifying continuous improvement initiatives.
Track the production budget, including headcount and cost.
Work with the maintenance team on preventative and predictive maintenance efforts, with the
goal of decreasing equipment downtime.
Lead and support continuous improvement, 5S, and Lean programs at the site to drive
engagement and efficiency.
Monitor and improve KPIs based on safety, quality, productivity, and cost.
Lead Kaizen events and update communication boards.
Other duties as directed by management.
The company is seeking a candidate who enjoys spending up to 75% of their day on the manufacturing
floor. Candidates should be able to take ownership of production, lead by example, be comfortable being
hands-on as needed, coach and mentor their staff, and infuse energy and excitement into the daily
operations of the facility. Qualified candidates should bring professionalism and follow-through and will
be passionate about continuous improvement, establishing consistent processes, and meeting KPIs based
on data-driven information.

REQUIREMENTS for the Manufacturing Manager:
- A Bachelor’s degree is preferred; minimum of a high school diploma or GED is required
- At least 3-5 years of similar manufacturing operations management experience, responsible for at least
50 people - Experience overseeing production in fast-paced manufacturing environments
- Experience overseeing direct and indirect reports
- Experience overseeing multiple shifts
- A proven track record of measurable continuous improvements
- Experience overseeing project timelines and budgets
- Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel
Skills preferred but NOT required:
Formal Lean and/or WCM training or certifications
Experience working in turnaround situations
Power BI experience
ERP experience
