Overview:
Our Client is looking for a highly skilled and experienced Engineering Manager specializing in injection
molding to lead their engineering team across three divisions. In this role, you will oversee and coordinate
engineering activities, with a primary focus on our injection molding operations. You will play a pivotal role in
managing projects, ensuring quality and efficiency, and driving innovation. The role will require a home office
based at either our Middletown, CT, or Palmer, MA, injection molding facility, with occasional travel between
the sites.
Responsibilities:
Leadership & Team Management:
Lead and manage the engineering and tool room teams, providing guidance, mentorship, and performance feedback.
Foster a collaborative, high-performance work environment and allocate resources effectively.
Conduct regular team meetings to ensure clear communication and coordination.
Injection Molding Process Management:
Oversee all aspects of the injection mold build process, including design, development, optimization, and troubleshooting.
Ensure compliance with industry standards, quality requirements, and regulatory guidelines.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and boost productivity.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address manufacturing issues and optimize production processes.
Project Management:
Manage the quotation process for new products and define project objectives, timelines, and resource requirements.
Coordinate with internal stakeholders, including product design, manufacturing, and quality assurance teams, for smooth project execution.
Monitor project progress, identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies to ensure success.
Technical Expertise:
Demonstrate in-depth knowledge of tool building techniques and sourcing tooling overseas.
Stay current with advancements in injection molding technology and materials.
Provide technical guidance and support to the engineering team and other departments.
Troubleshoot complex technical issues and develop innovative solutions.
Team Collaboration & Leadership:
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement engineering solutions aligned with business objectives.
Promote a culture of innovation and continuous learning within the engineering team.
Support the professional development of team members and foster effective communication and knowledge sharing.
Requirements:
Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.
Extensive experience in engineering roles with a focus on custom injection molding.
Proven experience managing and leading engineering and tool room teams, with a minimum of five years in a managerial role.
In-depth knowledge of injection molding processes, equipment, and materials.
Strong understanding of quality standards, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices.
Proficiency in project management methodologies and tools.
Excellent problem-solving skills and critical thinking abilities.
Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional environment.
Familiarity with CAD software and other engineering tools.
