Salary Range: $86,000.00 – $135,000.00

JOB DESCRIPTION

The Design Engineer II – Electrical position works at an entry-level on less complex projects and assists other engineers on more complex projects. Assignments are designed to develop knowledge of design principles, procedures, and practices for specific product and are performed under varying degrees of supervision

Core Competencies

  • Demonstrated proficiency with Lean Manufacturing is preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to exercise considerable latitude and technical judgment in deciding work methods is required.
  • Meets vision requirements specified by quality management system.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assists with the design of magnetic electrical and magnetic manufacturing design projects.
  • Assists with technical problem resolution. 
  • Assists with the development of work instructions for Engineering Equivalent Units (EEUs) and production-level parts. 
  • Works within the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system.
  • Assists with the research and evaluation of materials and manufacturing processes related to design.
  • Participates in cost and waste reduction programs.
  • Familiar with using Design Failure and Mode Effects Analysis (DFMEA) and Process Failure and Mode Effects Analysis (PFMEA).
  • Participates with the Sales and Quality Departments in resolving issues dealing with customers, production, or supply chain.
  • Adheres to company policies and procedures by ensuring that all projects are satisfactorily completed safely and efficiently duties as required and/or assigned.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor of Science Degree or higher, preferably in Electrical Engineering.
  • Three or more years of related work experience is preferred.
  • Experience in specific product design is preferred.
  • Experience working with electronic circuits is preferred.
  • Prior experience using computer design software, such as Inventor or AutoCAD, and analysis software is preferred.
  • This position requires use of information that is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).
