Controls Engineer – DeltaV / Honeywell
Compensation: $125,000 – $170,000 Per Year + Full Benefits + Relocation Expenses

Job Description:
Our company is seeking a qualified control systems engineer in Sugar Land, TX, responsible for
programming, system configuration, system documentation, factory acceptance testing, and field start-
up and commissioning activities, specifically for Honeywell & DeltaV systems, among others.
Qualifications
Required
· B.S. Engineering plus 5 years’ applicable work experience, or combination of education and
relevant work experience
· Strong platform experience and proficiency programming Honewell and DeltaV Distributed
Control Systems
· Strong proficiency with Modbus, Ethernet/IP, and OPC communications protocols
· Solid grasp of control panels, panel wiring drawings, and field wiring diagrams
· Strong understanding of P&IDs, to include:
a) Ability to support the development of new P&IDs
b) Ability to review and assess existing P&IDs
c) Ability to develop Instrument & I/O Lists from P&IDs
· Familiarity with ISA tagging conventions
· Must have they worked on projects from conception to implementation
· Must have ‘hands on’ configuration experience in both PLC/DCS controllers and HMI
graphics
Desirable
· Platform experience and proficiency programming:
a) PLCs (Allen-Bradley preferred)
b) HMIs (Inductive Automation Ignition, AVEVA/Wonderware System Platform, Rockwell
FactoryTalk View, GE iFIX preferred)
c) Other (Omni Flow Computer, ROC, Load Metering Devices)
· Development of both operational and technical manuals, to include training guides, HMI
manuals, and operating procedures
· Knowledgeable of Electrical Protection Relays
· Knowledgeable of Historian systems
· Knowledgeable of external notification systems (text, email, mobile app, etc.)
· Familiarity with DeviceNet and/or Profibus communications protocols
Responsibilities
· Participates in the development of logic diagrams, cause & effect matrices, and functional
narratives
· Participates in the development and/or review of control panel design packages, field wiring
diagrams, conduit & cable schedules, and associated E&I package deliverables
· Attends field verification and user requirements gathering walkdowns
· Develops DCS/PLC/HMI programming
· Executes factory acceptance testing
· Executes field start-up and commissioning, including support of troubleshooting activities
· Contributes to and participates in client training
· Provides best possible response after hours support for internal/external clients as required
· Works with applicable Senior Engineering Lead(s) and Project Manager(s) to ensure quality of
deliverable, budget adherence, etc. Keeps Project Manager(s) informed of progress, issues,
need for change order, etc.
· Travel +/- 25% with willingness to travel via air
